Mount Cascade and a Korean Rescue!

The last time I was in the Canmore/Banff area it was an in between season, so I was pretty excited when Nadine agreed to come north and meet up for a "international" holiday! (Above photo of Mount Cascade from town.)

It feels like there are 1,000 of peaks to choose from in the area....But as we ate our dinner on the rooftop of a local restaurant we deiced to head up Mount Cascade. We had perfect weather - Sunny and Hot!!

Once we got above treeline the views just were incredible. We picnicked along the way, stopped for photos, basic girl catch-up-chat-chat time.....

We made it to the top in fine style...it was on the way down when the excitement began...I won't go into all the details, but story in short, we met up with a young Korean man who took the wrong trail up, and was pretty wrecked...he was so close to the top, we told him go bag the peak and we will wait for you....as we waited, we ran into a second lost Korean man! A couple of helicopters later, a semi-park ranger rescue, and a mob of concerned Koreans at the trail head.....we made it down the mountain!

Once again, thank you Nadine for making the trip north!! It was truly great to see you!!
