1. no book over 200 pages - i know that limits me, but i have found something major will most likely take place at or around that 200 page mark and therefore the book will never be finished or if I pick it up again....to much time has gone by and I start at page 1 again.
2. it must have a wide page boarder - i like to read in bed, when the words get caught in the book binding, i get frustrated.
3. and the binding....I'm kinda hard on things, so the binding must be solid so none of the pages fall out (or maybe they should fall out because then the book may not break rule #1).
So, I am now attempting again to be a reader. I just finished Ender's Game, which in itself became an epic read as my car was broken into and Jason's 15 year old copy, that had been read 100 times was stolen.....
I've decided to work up to the nine-hundred and thirty-nine page book, Shantaram (which breaks rule #1), that is sitting on my desk. I am now attempting to go back and read all those "high-school level" classics, that I never read, in hopes that this will prepare me for the bigger stuff! Suggestions are welcome!
Wish me luck!

Well Lynn, I know how you feel, it pained me so to crack a book I didn't specifically choose (they were few and far between) especially of fiction genre. During this trip I too have taken its upon myself to open a book well known and accepted as good. Orsen Wells, "1984". Magazines don't come often enough and for almost everynight I lay in the back of my truck in the dark wishing I had something constructive to do besides drink. I do plenty of that already. You'll have to let me know how it goes, I'll keep you up to date about my own endeavors in literary pages. Its been a couple nights now but I am like 30 or 40 pages in. With many many more to go, but thankfully I also have a lot of trip left.
Keep me posted.
