Bomber Traverse....well an attempt.

It has been a very, very, very rainy summer. One of those summers where you just have to say GO or you will never get out. Sherrie and RC did this trip the weekend before and highly recommended it.

The Bomber Traverse has been on my list ever since I started going out to Hatchers Pass. This is a modified cut and paste of the hike/run description: This hike begins at the Gold Mint Trail head. Heads back 6.5 miles to a huge hanging valley. Head up the valley to the saddle. Looking down you should see Reed Lake. Glisade the snow slope below to the lake, then follow the Reed Lakes trail back to the road. Round trip distance is approx 15 miles.

Well, that was the idea anyway.

So Tanya and I picked a day and we stuck to it. It actually looked a little promising in the beginning.....but then it started to rain, and then it started to pour and pour and pour..........

We turned around close to the hut. We gave it a good go, but really climbing up the boulders and no visibility....well, probably better we went back. BUT if you want to see what we could have seen check out Sherries blog http://mtngrlinak.blogspot.com/2008/09/bomber-traverse.html
