Skiing at Hatchers Pass

Crazy day of skiing...First, a cornice broke off with all of us at the top of the couloir (see below). Jared jumped off the cornice…I had to take a "time-out" to find the courage to go…ok, I actually didn’t jump…instead slide myself between the fallen cornice and the huge snow wall…Jitters on my first run, but the second was a blast!!!

Avalanche Course

Three day weekend (MLK day), meant a three day avalanche course for me...HIGHLY recommend it for anyone who spends time in the mountains...great teachers, great people, learned a ton, and had a blast!!! Below are students digging pits...digging a pit is a way to test the stability of the snow. Photo to the right....the clouds lifted and once again showed us how amazingly beautiful Hatchers Pass is.

What this Blog means to me...(and the year of the Fire Pig)

The Chinese say 2007 is the year of the Fire Pig...and I happen to be one, a pig that is...so maybe this is a year to try "new" things...maybe a year to do new things...or maybe a year to do all the things I have wanted to do. So creating this "blog" is most certainly new...mostly I'm trying to keep up with my friends, as they are all doing it. Regardless of what this year means to me or others I thought this might be a good way to re-cap the "Life of Lynn". Maybe a way for me to share my writing, photos, and adventures...Maybe my way to lure all my friends to move to Alaska or meet me in some crazy place. May your minds stay open, your eyes open wide and your soul be filled with newfound energy each and every day... VLP

Happy New Year - 2007 Year of the Fire Pig

Happy New Year and welcome to my blog.
