Sometimes in life people get thrown together in some kind of crazy mix.....different folks, with different pasts, different experiences, different opionions, different strengths and weaknesses....yet we all come together and influnce each other lives.....With that said, heading down south to run Lost Lake with Melissa, Jessica, and Kyla was truly one of my summer highlights......Lost Lake, an Alaska classic, a 16 mile trail filled with amazing views in the Kenai mountains.... Welcome to Alaska Nancy and Chris!!
I just want to start this entry by thanking mom and Chris for making the trip to Alaska.....it truly was an amazing two weeks. We could not have asked for better weather, better company, and a better trip! What follows are a few of the highlights.....Their trip started with a bear in a tree down the street from my house.....
We spent a night in Hope, Alaska before heading down to the Kenai. Where Chris fished for days and days.....
Mom and I did the boat cruise out of Seward and saw EVERYTHING there is to see....!

We took the ferry from Whitter to Valdez and spent a couple of days checking out the town.
Mom and Chris checking out Worthington Glacier outside of Valdez.

We then made our way down the road to Kennicott Mine....a tour not to be missed.....

The three of us!!

State Triathlon

Last weekend Kyla and I, with Jessica's support, participated in the the Alaska State Triathlon.....they call it an Olympic-distance 1500-meter swim, followed by a 40-K road bike, and a 10-K run. Kyla kicked ass as she was the second girl out of the water....I almost drowned....but everything else went well! Great day overall! (thanks Jessica for taking all the photos!)
